Client Needs:
Bathroom remodel in process, with client wishing for a washed look to match the decor, based off of provided picture of what they had in mind for their remodel project.
The Design:
Outside viewable construction utilizes solid walnut for durablity and decor wishes. Pocket screwed the lower shelf slats, individually, to ensure strength to bear weight of any lower shelf storage items.
Designed for ease of cleaning, and used Blum brand undermount, concealed, soft close slides and Blum concealed hinges for doors.
Solid brass hardware used for outward facing handles to match decor and plumbing fixtures.
Materials Used:
Wood
Core build and outside viewable constructed from solid walnut.
Inside storage spaces finished with maple melamine, for ease of cleaning.
Baltic Birch plywood used for drawers, due to it’s greater strength and superior durability over basic plywood.
Finish
To achieve the ‘washed’ look requested, I used a general, water based acrylic, to provide look and ease of cleaning, maintenance.
